Did You Know? A gallon of propane has approximately 91,000 BTUs of energy content and a gallon of gasoline has around 125,000 BTUs of energy content. Therefore, in order for a propane gallon to be equivalent in energy content to gasoline it would actually costs the consumer more money. A lower BTU is better, it reduces the overall amount of energy. Furthermore, the savings with propane continues since it is not subjected to federal and/or state taxes, which could adds another 65-98c per gallon to the cost of gasoline.
